Three easy steps about the company. You read the numbers from free websites — this tool does the Shariah maths and explains every step.
ℹ︎ How to use this tool
- Press Load a worked example above to see a full worked screening.
- Tap the (i) button next to any field for simple help.
- Halal screening = (1) the main business must be permissible, (2) the finances must pass the AAOIFI ratios used by leading Islamic screeners.
- Paid apps charge monthly for this check — the method is public, so you can do it yourself for free.
- Nothing is uploaded — this runs fully in your browser.
🔍 Step 1 — What does the company do?
Is the company’s main income from something impermissible? What: look at where most of the company’s money comes from — its main business. Why: if the core business itself is impermissible, the stock fails this screen completely — no financial ratio can fix that. A tiny incidental impure income is different: that is handled in Step 3.What to enter: tick only activities that are the company’s main source of revenue, not small side income.
If none is ticked, continue — the business passes.
📊 Step 2 — Five numbers from free websites
Take these from the company’s annual report, screener.in (India), Tickertape, Yahoo Finance or your broker app — all free. What: all five numbers are public — published by the company and shown on free websites. Why: paid apps charge monthly for the same check; here you read the numbers yourself and this tool does the Shariah maths for free. What to enter: search the company name on screener.in, Tickertape or Yahoo Finance, or open its annual report from its investor page.
🧹 Step 3 — Small impure income (optional)
A little impure income does not fail the stock — it is cleansed by giving that share away (purification).
⚠️ Educational tool only — not a fatwa and not investment advice. Screening standards differ; consult a qualified scholar for significant decisions. 🔒 Runs 100% in your browser.
